Tis the season to be jolly!!!! Well I'm afraid to say it certainly ain't far off!
Cheldi jewellery are exhibiting at a number of craft and jewellery fairs in the run up to Christmas. We always do 'special show prices' all web prices are reduced at shows.

Best deck top PC???
My computer appears to be on its way out ..... It's served me very well I can tell you.
The main use for my computer is editing photos listing on web site and other listings on eBay. I also listen to music on it.
I NEED speed ie the pages on Internet load quickly. I use my computer probably on average about 4 hours a day sometimes more.
Can anyone offer me advice on which I'd the best desk top PC for under £450.
Any advice, comments are more than welcome as I, ( as much as I use it a lot) have no idea what to look for.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Moving on???
Well the 'funerals' of my colleagues take place next week. I inverted the word funeral as it isn't the funeral. It maybe a form of service but I'm told the actual funerals are NOT after this service. One will be in Scotland the other I believe Oldham. I'm making a point about this because my heart is reaching out for the family.
After my mum died (the most traumatic loss on my life) we had the 'funeral' at church. Then it went on to the crem. Some 4 weeks later we interned the ashes. All of these events were upsetting, traumatic and until each one had completed there was no way of thinking of moving on.
These poor families of my murdered colleagues are going through so many different types of funerals vigils etc, how long before they have closure and even have a starting point for moving on?
I'm not criticizing what is taking place as I'm sure the families wishes are fully being taken into account by the police service, it's just making me realise how hard life must be for them.
The families have obviously allowed their own feelings be put slightly aside to allow police officers everywhere to mourn also.
What a brave set of people!
It will be a long time until they are able to start functioning again 'normally'. I never say before they 'forget' the best I feel they can ever achieve is they ever get to 'live with it' but from my own personal experience it will be a very very long time... I'm afraid to say if ever. I do hope they WILL after time they will be able to live with what's happened.
My prayers are with all those people who have been close to Nicola and Fiona. May god give you the strength to cope.

Sad times for the police family.
Out of respect I will not be blogging about jewellery for a few days. It's very hard to think about anything else other than my colleagues murders at my division in GMP.
I would like to say that from the bottom of my heart this has been the worst incident in my career, and believe me there have been several 'moments' over the past 24 years.
My heart goes out to the family friends and close working colleague to Nicola and Fiona. This is a truly unbelievable unacceptable loss for you.
The police service is like a 'family'
It hurts when any officer is attacked or worse in any part of the country, if it's GMP then the pain is more personal. If its G Div in GMP then that's close family. I've spent my whole service on the G div, so yes, this hurts more than most.
I didn't no the girls well, I've spoken to Nicola more and found her to be very pleasant and very keen. Very helpful and just generally a nice person.
I've seen Fiona in passing but not sure I've spoke to her. This does not lessen the massive loss felt for both of them.
Today after 2 days off I return to work knowing I am going to enter a building in mourning.
My colleagues will be drained, still numb and mostly working on auto pilot.
The ultimate sacrifice has been paid by 2 young girls just doing a job they loved.
This last comment is NOT a political one just a common sense one. Please do not EVER compare a police officers job to that of ANY other public sector worker. The role of a police officer is unique.
R.I.P. Fiona and Nicola. You will never be forgotten.

New York update
Well as our visit to New York approaches, Jane has been very busy scouring all the visitors books. We are really keen to find new wholesale fashion jewellers and new bead shops. Blogs, twitter, Facebook etc etc
How did businesses get going in the 'old' days before social networking? All the top web advisors these days say you must blog, you must tweet, get a Facebook page etc etc. Well..... How did businesses get going prior to all this technology? It's not good enough just to have the best products at the best prices.
I met a lovely man the other day who was telling me how talented his daughter was. She was a designer of some description not sure what of, and I know your parents think you are great at whatever you do, but I truly believed him when he said how talented she was.
He said her problem was she had no idea how to market her creations. Not a clue. He felt so helpless that even he couldn't help her.
I tried to offer a bit of my limited advice but it really got me wondering how many great and talented creators we have out there that will NEVER get discovered as they can't get their heads round the net.
Move with the times or get left behind it seems.

A day in the life of a jeweller.
A day in the life of a jewellery never stops.... Cleaning bathroom, kitchen, mopping all laminate, washing, etc etc. jeweller? More like full time cleaner. How does it get so dirty? Still got bed to change... Fizzy pop break.
